Louise Joy Brown was born on July 25th 1978, the first human conceived using In Vitro Fertilization(IVF). Louise’s parents Leslie Brown and John Gilbert met Robert Edwards and Patrick Steptoe in 1976 after trying to conceive for nine years.
Louise’s birth created shockwaves for the church, politicians and the medical profession. Louise grew up at the centre of the debate about the morality of In Vitro Fertilisation while being a beacon of hope to millions of childless couples throughout the world.
Now in 2020 Louise’s aim is to become a public speaker raising awareness around Fertility and Fertility issues and destigmatise people needing fertility treatment, normalising their journey.
