Dr. Masahide Shiotani earned his medical degree from Shimane Medical University in 1985 and then entered Kyoto University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
At Kyoto University hospital, he joined the in vitro fertilization team, conducted research on analysis of the implantation process of fertilized eggs, and received PhD from Kyoto University School of Medicine in 1994.
He started working at Kobe City Central Municipal Hospital from 1994 to February 2000 and contributed to the birth of a child by first micro‐fertilization procedure in Hyogo prefecture.
In March 2000, he opened Hanabusa Women’s Clinic as a clinic specializing in infertility treatment and currently operates 4 clinics (5-6000 OPU a year).
He is a Board Certified Supervisor of Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a medical specialist of Japan Society for Reproductive Medicine. In addition, He is a Chairman of Japan Society of Assisted Reproduction (JSAR) and also serves on boards of several other infertility organizations.
