Dr Mandy Katz-Jaffe

Mandy Katz-Jaffe is a reproductive geneticist who completed her Masters and PhD at Monash
University in Melbourne, Australia. After receiving her doctorate in 2004 she moved to the US to join CCRM and where she is currently Scientific and Genetics Director. Dr. Katz-Jaffe has extensive clinical and research expertise in both Reproductive Genetics and Preimplantation Genetic Testing. In 2007, Dr. Katz-Jaffe and the CCRM team pioneered the clinical protocol of blastocyst aneuploidy screening, which allowed for the assessment of all 23 pairs of chromosomes in human blastocysts followed by frozen euploid blastocyst transfer. This has become a highly successful clinical protocol utilized around the world to assist individuals and couples in realizing their dream of family with significant improvements to IVF live birth rates. Other areas of research currently being investigated by Dr. Katz-Jaffe’s laboratory include identifying genetic processes associated with reproductive ageing, exploring the embryoendometrial dialogue during the window of implantation, as well as investigating epigenetic mechanisms during early development. Dr. Katz-Jaffe has a broad publication record of over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts and chapters, and is regularly presenting at national and international conferences.
