Brendan is a research fellow in The School of BioSciences at the University of Melbourne, where he investigates the genetic causes of human male infertility. Brendan and Prof. Moira O’Bryan collaborate with the International Male Infertility Genomics Consortium to achieve exome sequencing of infertile men and identify novel genes/genetic variants for further investigation in animal models. To do so, he models a number of these variants in mutant flies and mice to further understand their consequences on sperm production, function and male fertility in general.
